Columbia Research: Office of the Executive Vice President for Research

The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research has overall responsibility for the University's research enterprise at all locations, including the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses, Columbia University Medical Center, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and Nevis Laboratories, and internationally.

Human Research Protection Office and IRBs

Responsible for the review of human subjects research conducted by faculty, employees, staff, and students at CUMC and NYP. The IRB office provides guidance and resources needed for setting up and conducting studies involving humans.

Clinical Trials Office

Facilitates quality clinical trial research - the effective and efficient evaluation of new pharmaceuticals and medical devices - by providing the Columbia University Irving Medical Center research community with comprehensive administrative services that help move trials quickly from initial proposal through contract execution. We assist with trials supported by federal and foundation grants and industry contracts, including investigator-initiated trials. 
Office of Academic Affairs

Works with faculty and researchers so that they may lead successful and fulfilling careers across the four health science schools of the medical center: the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Mailman School of Public Health, the College of Dental Medicine and the School of Nursing.
